Terms & Conditions

These terms govern all freight forwarding, warehousing, cargo delivery, and supply chain engagements with STAFFS LOGISTICS LIMITED. Last updated: 1 January 2025.

1. Definitions

Contents

"Company" means STAFFS LOGISTICS LIMITED, registered in England and Wales. "Client" means any person or entity engaging the Company for freight, warehousing, or supply chain services.

"Cargo" means any goods, consignments, or freight entrusted to the Company. "Carrier" means any licensed third-party operator contracted by the Company to transport Cargo on behalf of the Client.

2. Scope of Services

These terms apply to all freight transportation, cargo delivery, global shipping, warehousing, and supply chain management services provided by STAFFS LOGISTICS LIMITED.

Service engagements are formalised through a written quotation accepted by the Client. Verbal instructions do not constitute a binding engagement unless subsequently confirmed in writing.

3. Carrier Liability

The Company's liability for loss or damage to Cargo is limited to the lesser of the actual value of the goods or £1,000 per consignment, unless the Client has declared a higher value and paid the applicable surcharge at the time of booking.

The Company is not liable for loss or damage arising from inherent vice, inadequate packaging by the Client, force majeure events, customs seizures, or the acts of third-party carriers beyond the Company's documented control.

Claims for loss or damage must be submitted in writing within 7 calendar days of the scheduled delivery date. Claims received after this period will not be accepted.

4. Cargo Insurance

The Company does not provide cargo insurance as a default service component. Clients are responsible for arranging all-risk marine or transit cargo insurance prior to handoff.

Where the Client requests the Company to arrange insurance on their behalf, this is facilitated through licensed underwriters and is subject to separate terms and premium agreements. Proof of cover is provided upon request.

5. Payment Terms

Invoices are payable within 14 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed in writing. All amounts are stated in GBP exclusive of applicable VAT.

Late payment attracts statutory interest at the rate prescribed under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. The Company reserves the right to suspend services where invoices remain outstanding beyond 30 days.

The Company exercises a general lien over all Cargo in its possession until all outstanding charges are settled in full, including storage costs accrued during the lien period.

6. Cancellations

Cancellations must be submitted in writing. Cancellations received more than 48 hours before the scheduled collection date are processed without charge.

Cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled collection date are subject to a handling fee equal to 25% of the confirmed quotation value. Cancellations after Cargo handoff to a licensed carrier are non-refundable.

7. Dispute Resolution

Disputes arising from these terms must first be escalated in writing to support@staffslogistics.com. The Company will acknowledge the dispute within 5 business days and propose a resolution within 20 business days.

Where a dispute cannot be resolved through direct correspondence, both parties agree to refer the matter to a mutually agreed independent mediator before initiating formal legal proceedings.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any proceedings not resolved through mediation shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
